Terms of Service

OnlyLocal is an online marketplace that connects homeowners with independently owned home service businesses. We provide a platform for homeowners to discover verified local businesses and submit quote requests. We are not a party to any agreement between homeowners and businesses and do not provide home services ourselves.

You must be at least 18 years old to use OnlyLocal. By using the platform you represent that you meet this requirement and that all information you provide is accurate and truthful.

As a homeowner using OnlyLocal you agree to use the platform only to seek legitimate home service quotes for properties you own or manage, provide accurate information when submitting quote requests including your name, contact information, and service needs, not submit fraudulent spam or misleading quote requests, and not use contact information obtained through OnlyLocal to harass or spam businesses.

OnlyLocal is free for homeowners. We do not charge you to search, browse, or submit quote requests and we will not charge you in the future without explicit notice and your agreement.

As a business listed on OnlyLocal you agree to provide accurate and truthful information about your business including ownership structure, services offered, service area, years in operation, and licensing and insurance status, maintain the independent ownership status you represented during verification for as long as your listing is active, notify OnlyLocal within 30 days if your business is sold, acquired, franchised, or otherwise changes in ways that affect your verified status, respond to quote requests in a professional and timely manner, not submit fake reviews or engage in any review manipulation, maintain current and valid licensing and insurance as required by your state and trade, and renew your annual verification when contacted by OnlyLocal.

You understand that your listing may be paused or removed without refund if you violate these terms or fail to maintain the standards required for verification.

OnlyLocal's verified badge represents our good-faith assessment that a business met our verification criteria at the time of verification and at the time of their most recent annual renewal. Verification is not a guarantee of work quality, licensing compliance, or any other characteristic beyond independent ownership as defined by our verification standards. We reserve the right to remove or suspend any listing at our sole discretion if we determine that a business no longer meets our verification standards or has misrepresented any information.

Reviews on OnlyLocal may only be submitted by homeowners who have submitted a quote request to that business through our platform. By submitting a review you represent that your review reflects your honest experience and opinion. You agree not to submit false, misleading, defamatory, or retaliatory reviews. We reserve the right to remove any review that violates these terms or that we determine in our sole discretion to be fraudulent or abusive.

Businesses may respond to reviews publicly. Responses must be professional and may not include personal information about the reviewer.

You agree not to use OnlyLocal to impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity, scrape harvest or collect data from the platform by automated means, attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the platform or any other user's account, post or transmit any content that is unlawful harmful threatening abusive defamatory or otherwise objectionable, use the platform for any commercial purpose other than its intended use as a home service marketplace, or interfere with or disrupt the operation of the platform.

All content on OnlyLocal including text, graphics, logos, and software is the property of OnlyLocal or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any content on the platform without our express written permission.

Business owners retain ownership of content they submit including business descriptions and photos. By submitting content you grant OnlyLocal a non-exclusive royalty-free license to display that content on the platform.

OnlyLocal is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. We do not guarantee that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We do not guarantee the quality, safety, legality, or any other aspect of services provided by businesses listed on our platform. We are not responsible for any disputes, damages, or losses arising from transactions between homeowners and businesses. The verified badge represents our verification process as described on our verification standards page and does not constitute an endorsement, guarantee, or warranty of any kind.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law OnlyLocal and its officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform or any transaction between a homeowner and a business found through the platform. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the platform shall not exceed the amount you paid to OnlyLocal in the twelve months preceding the claim.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless OnlyLocal and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses including reasonable legal fees arising from your use of the platform, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any rights of another party.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising from these terms shall be resolved in the courts of Utah County, Utah.

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email. Your continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
